Timed server-wide events — XP and loot boosts, bloodmoons, boss invasions and mob waves — on a repeating timer, on the calendar, or fired by hand.
World Events
A world event is a timed window that changes the whole game while it runs: double XP, a gathering frenzy, a bloodmoon, a boss that storms a map, a wave of extra mobs. It is announced to every player when it starts and when it ends, and cleans up after itself.
There are three ways to start one:
| How | Use it for |
|---|---|
| Recurring (Repeat Interval) | "A boss invasion every 6 hours" — real time |
| One-shot (Start Time) | "The launch-weekend dragon, Saturday 18:00" — once, at a real date and time |
| A calendar event | "Double XP on the 14th of Emberfall" — in-game dates. See Calendar |
| Fire Now | Testing, or a live event you run by hand |
Where to author it: World Config → World Events.

Create a world event#
- Open World Config → World Events and press + New.
- Basic — give it an Event ID and Name, a description players will read,
and an announcement prefix.
- Schedule — pick a Schedule Type, set the Duration, and a **Repeat
Interval (Recurring) or Start Time** (One-shot).
- Effects — pick an Effect Type and Multiplier, and a Target Map to keep
the event (its mobs, its card and its effect) on one map.
- Spawns — optionally add a boss and extra mobs with their coordinates.
- Press Create Event. It reaches a running server within a few seconds — no restart
(or after your next Publish on a hosted game).
- Press Fire Now on its card to watch it run, and Stop to end it early.
Basic#
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Event ID | Permanent id: lowercase letters, numbers and underscores. Required, and locked once created. |
| Name | Shown in announcements and on the event card players see. Required. |
| Description | Added to the start announcement in chat. |
| Announcement Prefix | An emoji or symbol put in front of the chat announcements. |
| Enabled | Off = the event never runs — not on its timer, not from the calendar, not from Fire Now. |
Schedule#
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Schedule Type | Recurring fires every Repeat Interval. One-shot fires once, at its Start Time. Manual never fires on its own — only from Fire Now, a calendar event or a script. |
| Repeat Interval | Recurring only: how often it fires (up to 168 hours). 0h 0m = never on its own. Without a Start Time the first firing comes one full interval after the server starts or picks up the event — not immediately. |
| Start Time | Your computer's local date and time. One-shot: required — the event runs from this moment for its Duration. Recurring: optional — the first firing lands on it, then every Repeat Interval after it (a time in the past lines the timer up with it). Manual: ignored. |
| Duration | How long it runs once started (up to 168 hours 59 minutes). A calendar event that starts it overrides this with the calendar event's own length. |
| On Expire | What happens when it ends. Silent end — no chat line (the on-screen card still closes). Announce end in chat — an "has ended" line for everyone. Announce + reset map spawns — also refills every mob spawn rule on the Target Map (every map for a Global event) straight away, skipping pending respawn timers. |
Effects#
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Target Map | Scopes the whole event to one map: the boss and extra mobs appear there, only players there get the on-screen card, and the effect (XP, loot, speed, damage, crafting, gathering, mob aggro and respawn) applies only there. Global = every map. |
| Effect Type | What the event changes — see the table below. None for a pure boss or mob-wave event. |
| Multiplier | Strength of the effect, 0.1–10. Above 1 boosts, below 1 slows (0.5 XP halves it). |
| Effect Type | While it runs |
|---|---|
| Gathering Frenzy | Resource nodes respawn Multiplier × faster |
| Mob Surge | Mobs respawn Multiplier × faster, and their aggro range grows by Multiplier × 0.75 (never shrinks) |
| XP Boost | Skill XP gains × Multiplier |
| Speed Boost | Movement speed × Multiplier |
| Crafting Frenzy | Crafting speed × Multiplier |
| Loot Bonanza | Loot × Multiplier |
| Bloodmoon | Mobs respawn faster and aggro from further away, all damage (players and mobs alike) × Multiplier, and loot × Multiplier |
When events overlap, their multipliers stack by multiplying: a 1.25× XP event and a 2× XP event running together give 2.5×, and 1.25× again as soon as the 2× one ends.
Spawns#
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Boss Spawn | A mob that appears when the event starts. It fights with that mob's own AI, abilities and loot, is named [EVENT] …, and has 5× the mob's max HP. |
| Spawn X / Spawn Y | The tile the boss appears on. Leave both blank to use the Target Map's spawn point. A Global event's boss needs them — the editor won't save it without. |
| Extra Mob Spawns | Rows of Mob, Count (1–999) and X/Y. Each mob lands within about 4 tiles of its point. |
Rewards come from the mobs themselves — their loot tables and XP, boosted by any Loot Bonanza or XP Boost running at the same time. There is no separate participation reward.
What players see#
- A chat announcement to everyone when the event starts (prefix, name, description) and
when it ends.
- A world-event notification card (the Title Card lane) — on every screen for a
global event, only for players on the target map for a map-scoped one.
- Anything you bind to the world event trigger in the audio editor.
Managing events#
The card for each event shows its interval, duration, map, effect, boss and extra spawns.
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Fire Now | Starts it on the running server immediately. Fails if the event is already running, disabled, or not yet on the server. |
| Stop | Ends a running event early: its mobs vanish and the end is announced. |
| Enable / Disable | Disabling a running event ends it. |
| Edit / Delete | Deleting a running event ends it. Select several cards to bulk-edit or bulk-delete. |
Gotchas#
- Blank Spawn X / Y = the map's spawn point. If the Target Map has no spawn marker
either, the boss is skipped (the server logs a warning) — place a spawn marker or type the coordinates.
- Map-scoped effects stack on top of global ones. A 1.5× Global loot event and a 2×
loot event on the Forest give 3× in the Forest and 1.5× everywhere else. An effect counts where the player (or, for mob aggro and respawns, the mob) is standing.
- A One-shot fires once. Once its window (Start Time + Duration) has passed it never
fires again — even after a restart — and stopping it early keeps it stopped. Move its Start Time to run it again. A window that closed while the server was down is not replayed.
- Silent end is the default for new events. Pick Announce end in chat if players
should be told.
- The Active badge means enabled, not running.
- Event mobs leave with the event — alive or not — when it ends or is stopped.
- An event that is already running is never started a second time; the next firing
waits for the one after.
- Timers and running events survive a server restart. Changing the interval restarts
its countdown; other edits keep it, and apply to a running event at once.
- A calendar event that links a disabled event, or one that also fires on its own (a
Recurring interval or a One-shot Start Time), gets a warning in the calendar editor. Set it to Manual to let the calendar own it.
- World events have no feature flag of their own — they are always available.
