List Your Game in the Games Portal
The ED5 games portal at /games on the website is a public page where players browse and play worlds built with ED5 MMO Studio. Each game gets a card (cover, title, genre, how many people are online right now, and a Play button) and its own page at /games/<your-play-link-id> that search engines and link previews can pick up.
Listing is opt-in: nothing you build appears there unless you turn it on.
Where to set it up#
Your account → Studio dashboard → your project card → ED5 games portal.
The panel sits just below Public play link on the project card. Only the project owner sees it.
How to list your game#
- On your project card, open Public play link and turn it on. The portal only lists games that anyone can join, and the Play button uses this link — you never type a link yourself.
- Still in Public play link, upload a Cover image (1200×630 works best — see Your Game's Cover Image). Without one, the portal shows a plain placeholder tile.
- Open ED5 games portal on the same card.
- Turn on List my game in the ED5 games portal.
- Fill in the Title, Short description, Genre and Content rating.
- Click Save listing. When your game is live on the portal you see a Listed badge and a View on the portal link.
To take your game off the portal, turn the switch off and save. Turning off the public play link also removes it straight away.
Fields#
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| List my game in the ED5 games portal | The opt-in switch. Off = your game never appears on /games. |
| Title | The name on the card and the game page (up to 60 characters). Defaults to your project name. |
| Short description | One or two sentences under the title and in search and link previews (up to 280 characters). |
| Genre | Picked from a list (RPG, Action, Adventure, Survival, Sandbox, PvP, Strategy, Social, Puzzle, Other). Players filter the portal by it. |
| Content rating | Everyone, Teen (13+) or Mature (17+). Shown on the card and the game page. Rate honestly — staff can hide listings with the wrong rating. |
| Cover | Not edited here — it's the Cover image from the Public play link section. |
| Play link | Not edited here — it's derived from your public play link. |
What players see#
- A card with your cover, title, genre, rating, a No account needed badge if guests are allowed, and the number of players online.
- The online count comes from your game server's public status. If your server is asleep or not answering, the count is simply left off — your listing still shows.
- Search matches your title, description and genre.
Gotchas#
- "Turn on the public play link above." You switched the listing on but the play link is off. The listing is saved but stays invisible until the play link is on.
- "A title is required to list your game." You can't list with an empty title.
- Archived projects never show, even with the switch on.
- Changes can take up to a minute to appear on /games (the page is cached briefly).
- Hidden by staff. If a listing breaks the rules, staff can hide it. You see a notice in the panel; saving again does not un-hide it. Contact support if you think it's a mistake.
- "The ED5 games portal is not open yet." The portal hasn't launched on this site yet; try again later.
- Everything you type in the listing is public.
- There is no feature flag — the portal is a website feature, not an engine setting.
