Set the picture players see on the games list and when your link is shared.

Your Game's Cover Image

Your cover image is how your game introduces itself before anyone plays it — on the public games list, and in the preview card that appears when your play link is pasted into Discord, X, iMessage or anywhere else.

Where to set it

Your account → Projects → your project → Public play link → Cover image.

The section appears once the project exists; you don't have to make the play link public first, though the image only reaches players once you do.

How to set it up

1. Open your account dashboard and expand the project. 2. Find Public play link, and under it Cover image. 3. Click Upload image and pick your file. 4. The preview appears immediately. Use Replace image to change it, or Remove to go back to the default.

Where it showsThe games list card, and the picture in your shared-link preview

Design for a small card: a wide, readable image with your game's name or key art. Fine detail and small text disappear at preview size.

What happens if you don't set one

Nothing breaks. Your game falls back, in order, to:

1. Your loading screen logo (UI Editor → Loading), if you authored one 2. The default engine icon

That fallback is a square logo rather than a wide banner, so it still looks intentional on the card — but a real cover is what makes a shared link stand out.

Gotchas

  • It can take a few minutes to appear. Both the games list and the link preview are cached for about five minutes.
  • Social platforms cache previews harder than we do. After changing your cover, a link already posted may keep the old picture for a long time. Most platforms have a "scrape again" debugging tool that forces a refresh.
  • Your game does not need to be online. The cover lives with your account, not on your game server, so the picture shows even when your world is asleep or restarting — which is exactly when someone is most likely to click your link.
  • Only the project owner can change it. Collaborators with edit access can't, for the same reason they can't change the play link.
  • Removing the cover doesn't remove the card — it falls back to your logo.
