Ban or mute a player account for a set time, lift it again, and give or take away staff roles, all from the Users tab.
Banning, Muting and Staff Roles
The Users tab is where you keep order on a live game. Open any account to see whether it is banned or muted, which characters it owns, when it was last seen, and the full history of what staff did to it and why. Every action needs a reason and asks you to confirm before it happens.
Where you'll find it#
| What | Where |
|---|---|
| The account list | Admin → Users (also inside Database → Players → Accounts) |
| One account's panel | Click a row, or press Manage |
| Search | The search box finds a username, display name, character name or account id |
| Filters | All Users, Admins/Staff, Guests, Banned |
Ban a player#
- Open Users and click the account.
- Write a Reason (up to 300 characters). A banned player sees it when they try to log in.
- Pick a Duration: 1 hour, 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days or Permanent.
- Press Ban, then Confirm.
A ban belongs to the account, so every character on it is locked out, not just the one you were looking at. If the player is online they are disconnected straight away. When a timed ban runs out the player can log in again with no action from you. To lift one early, open the account and press Unban.
Mute a player#
Muting stops chat but lets the player keep playing. Use the same panel: write a reason, pick a duration and press Mute. A mute takes hold within a few seconds, with no need for the player to log out. Press Unmute to lift it.
Give or take away a staff role#
- Open the account.
- Under Staff role, pick superadmin, admin, gm, moderator, content_editor, or No staff role.
- Write a reason, press Change role, then Confirm.
The in-game console reads the role when the player connects, so an online player gets it at their next login at the latest.
What the panel shows#
| Field | What it means |
|---|---|
| Account id | The id to quote when asking support or the AI copilot about this player |
| Role | Their staff role, or none |
| Last seen | The last time any of their characters was online |
| Shown only here, and only to people who can edit the project. Never shown in game | |
| Ban / Chat mute | Whether it is active, when it ends, and the reason |
| Characters | Every character on the account |
| Moderation history | Each ban, unban, mute, unmute and role change, with who did it, when and why |
Gotchas#
- You cannot ban or mute an admin or superadmin. Remove their staff role first.
- You cannot change your own role, and you cannot remove the last admin. Make someone else an admin first.
- Only the project owner can give or take away superadmin. Editors can manage the other roles.
- A reason is required for every action, so there is always a record of why.
- IP addresses are never shown or stored in the history.
- Bans are permanent only if you pick Permanent; the other durations end by themselves.
- The AI copilot can look players up and, with your approval, ban, mute or change a role. It uses the same checks and writes the same history, marked as AI.
